Thanksgiving Unit
For diversity I incorporated appropriate accommodations in my lesson plan for students who had IEP�s. As a special education student teacher, I collaborated with the general education teacher and the resource personnel. I incorporated visuals (PowerPoint, examples) and hands-on activities for the students. I briefly discussed how each student celebrated Thanksgiving and compared their answers to other students.
Matter Unit
For diversity I incorporated a file folder as a supplementary assessment for a student. I developed the file beacuse the student was not be able to do the worksheet. The file folder was used to assess the student at the end of the lesson. The remaining students completed a worksheet on solids and liquids consisting of coloring pictures, cutting them out, and gluing the pictures to the correct category. I also incorportated other hands-on activites for all of the students to help develop their motor skills. Students with reading difficulties were assisted by resource assistants to check for understanding.
